Department of Business Management Osmania University

The Department of Business Management has been in the field of management education for about 40 years now. It has distinction of being one of the pioneering management institutions in the country. Having started with a part-time evening program way back in 1962, it has grown from strength to strength and now training about 400 students pursuing MBA program in the day session, MBA program in the evening session for practicing executives, and a recently launched MBA Technology Management Program.

So far the University has according affiliations to about 100 colleges for running MBA Program. The Department of Business Management maintains close liaison with these colleges and provides academic leadership by offering MBA Programs and offered the guidance of department by arranging guest lectures by senior faculty for the benefit of guidance in running the program effectively.

The Department has networked with institutions of international repute in order to offer post-graduate programs in different branches of management. The department signed an MOU with College of Defense Management, Govt. of India for offering MMS Program for the Senior Officers of Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. The department has entered into an MOU with Sardar Vallabhai Patel National Police Academy, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, for offering Masters Program in Police Management for the benefit of IPS probationers. The department has joined hands with Apollo Group of Hospitals and Owaisi Hospitals to offer Master Degree Program in Hospital Management.

The Department is closely associated with the Institute of Public Enterprise in offering MBA Program in Public Enterprises for Practicing Executives. Keeping in view the fact that technology has assumed centre stage in the present day globalised economy with its multifarious ramifications for managerial decisions, in different functional areas, the department has recently launched MBA Technology Management Program, which is first of its kind in the entire country. The department is offering this program in active collaboration with Confederation of India Industry, AP and Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Govt. of India.

The faculty of department has specialized in various functional areas of management. Keeping in view their expertise and rich experience, several organizations have been requesting the department to organize short-term training and orientation programmes for their Officers. The prominent among them are the Ministry of Personnel and Training, Govt. of India, Department of Public Enterprises, Govt. of India. Dept of Public Enterprises, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, and a host of organizations from the corporate world. The All India Council for Technical Education, (AICTE), New Delhi, University Grants Commission, and other institutions have sanctioned a number of Training Programs, Research Projects, and Consultancy Assignments to the Department of Business Management.

Note to Contributors

All articles should be sent by e-mail only, preferable in MS word. They should be double spaced. Please proof read the articles very carefully. All articels are reviewed by the editorial team through external review process.

Views expressed in this journal are those of the authors. Reference citation should be in standard form. References should contain all the Articles, Books, Reports, etc., referred to in the text.

There is no standard length for articles. However, a limit of 6-10 pages would be appreciated. Tables should be of such size that they can be composed within one page area of journal.
